Italian Consumer-oriented Medical Vocabulary (ICMV)

The Italian Consumer-oriented Medical Vocabulary is a vocabulary create for Italian context under the TreC project, able to reflect the different ways patients and healthcare consumers in general express and think about health topics, that is integrated with standard medical terminologies, ontologies and classification systems used by primary care physicians in their daily practice to register medical data. The aim of this resource is to bridge the existing communication between the lay language used by healthcare consumers and the professional (technical) language used by healthcare professional. This medical vocabulary was developed using Semantic Web technologies and is accessible in a Wiki format and for this reason always extenbible at: eheatlhwiki.fbk.eu
